We have worked with several government organisations to design, deploy and support WordPress-based intranets. The work has subsequently been developed as an open source platform – GovIntranet. Current GovIntranet users include the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, the Northern Ireland Office, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, St George’s Hospital Tooting, the Royal Borough of Kingston and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
GovIntranet draws inspiration from the simplicity and user focus of GOV.UK, and is designed to enable staff to do their jobs quickly, turning the intranet from a dull start page to a useful tool and a fruitful place to discuss work and social issues with colleagues.
GovIntranet is available to download from GitHub.
Our pilot package allows you to test our intranet platform as an alpha site. We’ll setup a private area for testing and will facilitate research workshops to nail down user needs and requirements and plan your intranet site structure and style. We include administrator and publisher training to give you the skills to make the platform work for you.
