Requirements
DLUHC, switched their existing DCLG WordPress intranet to GovIntranet in 2016. A new head of internal communications wanted a more flexible homepage and additional functionality for the staff directory.
What we did
Moving from one WordPress theme to another made content migration very easy. Posts and pages were reassigned to GovIntranet custom post types, recategorised and tagged. We provided a content editor to rewrite key intranet content in plain English and to accessible standards.
The new intranet has an improved search engine and a new, flexible intranet homepage template.
A major part of the project was the requirement for synchronisation between internal Human Resources data and the intranet staff directory. We developed a solution allowing intranet managers to import data via a CSV export, creating new staff profile accounts on the intranet where necessary and updating existing accounts with new data.
